Service Description:
  • Residential and respite care with focus on maintaining family involvement and commitment
  • 10 bed respite facility, with kitchen, play areas, resource centre, accessible swimming pool, and Snoezelen sensory room
  • 4 private residential group homes in North York, Etobicoke, Aurora and Woodbridge, each with a capacity of 5 or 6, and staffed 24 hours
  • Ongoing expansion into affordable housing for adult-aged individuals
  • Educational and support programs for families of residents

Fees: Vary for different services, but ability to pay is not a barrier to service

Eligibility / Target Population: Children and youth birth-18 years at time of admission who have multiple disabilities and complex medical needs

"About Us"
Safehaven provides exceptional care to children with developmental disabilities and complex care needs. Funded by the Ministries of Community and Social Services and Children and Youth Services, we have five locations in Toronto and across the GTA, serving 200 families a year with residential and respite care programs that include medical care, therapies, and recreational activities.
