Service Description: One-to-One Mentoring Program provides trained volunteer mentors on a one to one basis to women in transition (e.g. leaving an abusive situation, building English conversation skills) for a period of 6 months to a year. Supportive mentors assist women to increase their support system, to break their isolation, and to be more in charge of their lives.

Literacy/English conversation mentors assist women to improve their writing, reading and numeric skills.

Fees: Free and voluntary
Application: Self-referral
Eligibility / Target Population: Women 18 years and older, including newcomers who are moving away from abuse, poverty and isolation * special program off-site for women 13-19 years * outreach to women with disabilities and young women
